Corporate Reporter
CHENNAI: The Chennai-based Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), an Amalgamations group company, on Monday said it will set up a greenfield plant at Manisa in Turkey to produce 15,000 tractors annually, says a release. Commenting on the investment, Chairman and Managing Director, A. Sivasailam, said, “Turkey is a strategically important market for us. TAFE has, over the past few years, invested significantly in developing tractors in the sub-100 HP range for a variety of applications in both the domestic and overseas markets.”
Mallika Srinivasan, Director, said “The tractor market in Turkey is of significance to us in that its composition is well within our experience and manufacturing range. We expect the first tractor to roll out of the new plant in the first quarter of 2009.”
