Mohan sparkles for Kerala

VIJAYAWADA: Kerala’s Abhishek Mohan (89) helped his team score 218 in 75.3 overs against Andhra XI in the three-day under-16 practice cricket match at the Siddhartha Medical College, here on Sunday.

Andhra’s Sneha Kishore (five for 29) was the pick of the bowlers.

The scores: Kerala XI 218 in 75.3 overs (Abhishek Mohan 89, C.A. Mathew 43, Sneha Kishore five for 29) vs. Andhra XI 44 for two in 12 overs.

Rao triumphs

V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College gymnast T. Sriramakoteswara Rao emerged overall champion in the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-Collegiate gymnastics championship that concluded at the Siddhartha Public School, here on Sunday.

Bapatla Engineering College’s Y. Sandeep Kumar and VRSE College‘s Sai Lakshman finished second and third respectively.

Chess tournament

Vijayawada will host the 38th National junior (under-19) boys and 23rd National junior girls’ chess championships from November 3 to 11 at the Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Indoor Stadium, the Krishna District Chess Association Secretary, P. Srihari, said.
