Companies spend a lot of money on advertising trying to persuade users to visit their sites. Instead of paying some advertising company, why not just reward the users directly who help build the NewsMirchi community! How about giving away a cool digital music player? So we ended up with this idea of an IPod shuffle (1 GB) giveaway!

This promotion is subject to participating terms and conditions. Receipt of your gift requires compliance with the offer terms, including: age and residency requirements; membership requirements; contact details requirements and program requirements. This offer is Void where prohibited.

Please Note the changes to Program Requirements section. Our vision is to make NewsMirchi an one stop site for interesting news (as determined by NewsMirchi members). However, we noticed that iPod contest has ignited a need for submitting large number of news links, many of them may have been added just for the sake of scoring points. This directly deviates our goal and hence we revised this section to limit the credits on certain tasks. Exceptions:
As of today, We will be able to ship the IPod only to few countries such as USA, Canada, UK, India, Singapore etc. Incase we are not able to send an IPod, We reserve the right to pay your PayPal account the dollar amount equivalent of the price of IPod shuffle (1 GB) as posted on the Apple website on the last day of the month for which the winner was selected.

Age Requirements:
You must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.

Membership Requirements:
You need to be a registered member of NewsMirchi. Employees of NewsMirchi are not eligible for participating in this contest.

Contact details Requirements:
In case you win a gift, you should provide us with a valid shipping address and a working contact phone number. If we opt to transfer money to you PayPal account, you must provide us your PayPal account details. You also agree that NewsMirchi reserves the right to choose between sending an IPod or transferring the money to your PayPal account.

Program Requirements:

• You must have voted for atleast 5 News on NewsMirchi and submitted atleast 5 News to NewsMirchi
• Each user referred by you (maximum of 15) that registers with NewsMirchi scores you 10 credits after they submit atleast FIVE news and cast TEN votes.
• Each news links submitted by you scores 1 credit.You can submit as many news you want but only the first 15 submitted by you per day will be awarded the credit.
• For every 5 votes you cast, you get 1 credit. You can Vote for as many news you want but only the first 125 votes by you per day will be awarded the credit.
• For every 2 News you Email via "Email This" option, you get 1 credit. Only the first 10 emails sent by you per day will be accounted for awarding the credit.
• For every 10 unique News you read by clicking "Visit Site", you get 1 credit. Reading the same news any number of times is considered only one Read. You can "Visit Site" for as many news you want but only the first 100 visits by you per day will be awarded the credit.
• At the last day of the month your total credits will be calculated.
• If you have scored more credits than all other users, then you win an IPod shuffle (1 GB) (see the Exceptions above).
• If more than one has the same top score, then we will draw lots to decide the winner.
• The winner will be contacted by email, if there is No Response from the winner within 15 days, then a new winner will be selected.
• In case of any disputes, the NewsMirchi editorial panel's decision is final.

What's the catch?
There is no catch! You are generating web traffic for us and instead of paying Overture or Google for advertisements, We pay you for the traffic you help generate!

Is there any cost?
No. We pay even the shipping cost.

What do I do if I am notified that I have won and haven't received my gift?
The process of shipping your gift can take 4 weeks or more after we notify you. if you have not received your gift even after a month, please contact us ipodoffer [at] newsmirchi.com.

It can take up to 7 business days for us to respond to an inquiry. Please be patient. If you have not received a response in that time, please email to escalate [at] newsmirchi.com with complete details of all earlier communications.

What if I can't provide a PayPal account. Can I insist on getting an IPod?
We will try our best to send the winner an IPod shuffle (1 GB). if we could not send an IPod for whatever reasons, then we will opt to transfer the money to your PayPal account. In such case you must provide us with a PayPal account. So, Sorry, if you could not provide us a PayPal account then you are automatically disqualified and next winner will be selected.

Can I participate if I'm under 18?
If you are under 18, you cannot participate in the program.
